Although fate has seen me working in retail to make a living, I do however consider myself relatively skilled in the art of web design. On top of that I would say I am a bit of an eclectic artist. While not as talented as some, I do like to dabble in a bit of everything -- graphic design, photography, 3D art and animation, and even multimedia. I have also been known to draw or film stuff, but never very well.
One of my current endeavours is to re-skill myself in Maya and 3D modelling and animation. While I don't have any specific requirements for it at the moment, I still think it would be a good idea to at least return myself to the point I was at university -- although even now I know more about materials and texturing than I did back then. Who know, perhaps it will even come in useful (my boyfriend seems to think that the design studio he works for might require it soon).
Anyway, aside from that I'm constantly playing around in Photoshop and Flash to try and come up with interesting effects to use at a later date. I suppose this is all a lead up to a point, sometime in the future, when I can branch out from my current crappy retail pay-the-bills job and into something more creative. Until then, and even after, it will more likely be a constant learning process, and an attempt to develop some sort of portfolio for that ever-elusive design job.
